look man sometimes you join in Nov. ‘24 because, even though you quit twitter months earlier, you’re a slow adopter of new tech but a critical mass of people you know are at the new place now, not because you’re getting paid by blue maga or whatever
I have taken the 2-3 lbs of copper that were in the camera which you were probably saving for surveillance Forgive me they were so accessible so valuable and so disruptive
chat can anyone verify that every single Flock camera has about 2-3 Ibs of copper and about 1-2 grams of gold

Exclusive: We obtained a leaked playbook that Flock gives to cops to coach them on "how to speak to city council" to avoid getting their contracts canceled. Includes strategies like "own the narrative" by talking to mayor "before public comment periods" www.404media.co/own-the-narr...

there’s a lot of MA-posting on here. either everybody is from Massachusetts or everybody is doing real bad
New: We found 50 cops who misused Flock cameras and other license-plate readers for personal purposes, often to spy on their girlfriends or ex-wives. He "watched every single move I made. ... Who do you turn the chief of police in to?" wapo.st/3S6rTuo
She left her ex. He secretly tracked her through a network of policing cameras.
Flock’s array of license-plate cameras was built to fight crime. But at least 50 law enforcement officers were charged with or accused of misusing it and other systems.

I love Talarico and hope he wins. But he’s already raised $70M On the flipside, control of critical state legislatures will come down to seats where candidates raise 0.1% of that. I’ve researched the highest leverage swing district candidates you should donate to secure.actblue.com/donate/donat...
Donate to the candidates on the front lines of the fight against MAGA gerrymandering
These are anti-MAGA state candidates in *extremely* close races

Me to Jonathan Frakes on my TV during episodes of Beyond Belief
Still sounds like utter shite to me whatever you choose to call it. Wrong. Incorrect. Fiction. Not supported by facts. Erroneous. Cloud cuckoo land. Untrustworthy.
what does the media landscape look like when transphobia becomes as gauche to upper class liberals as other bigotries are? how are these careers and institutions kept when association with them becomes a black mark on one's reputation?
i think the solidarity among the liberal media class in furious transphobia is really interesting from a revolutionary perspective, because these peoples have tied their careers to a political hate movement, and the end of that hate movement spells the end for an entire echelon of the upper class

I have looked through the NYT's financial statements and people should know that the NYT's profits have gone up significantly since 2022, not because of news-only subscription revenue, but because of revenue driven by puzzle and recipe subscriptions, alone or bundled with news.
This may be true of others but I actually got express permission from the trans community to keep NYT games and recipes. I also have a news subscription, which is arguably worse, so I had to specifically send in a written request. Took 30 days but I got approved.
Lgbtq+ rights are a winning issue. The queer community are a major pillar of the democratic base. The democrats Abandoning them would do nothing but ensure a republican victory. transnews.network/p/abandoning...

that reminds me, I had some project where students had to use social media for some reason I can’t recall and one kid was like “I’m only on LinkedIn.” The grind is All
Finally we can get it back to handmade marketing-talk slop
Oh my God, this is not a drill - LinkedIn has added 'seems like AI slop' as an option on posts Genuinely thought it was a joke until I clicked on a few posts
i can’t say with complete certainty that holding wealthy people accountable for their crimes would solve all our problems but you know let’s just try it out let’s just test it
i think the wilson–nolan stuff was so explosive because nolan-heads are susceptible to the delusion that his stuff is much more highbrow than it really is, and bluesky heads are susceptible to the delusion that they are the number one homework do-ers, and wilson threatened both myths simultaneously
The nonprofit where I help out is putting some of our funds in an interest bearing account rather than keeping 12 months of operating money in checking. One of the other board members was like ‘we should check in with AI!’ Like, sure, go for it, but can you go potty without telling me? 3/?
that odyssey review was pretty funny but also kind of like if wes anderson did the iliad and someone went long on how everything looks like a diorama and the characters have a flat affect and there's a general named "Gen. Greek Tragedy" and like yes i understand that is a wes anderson movie correct
