On Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, where cougars were most active, deer-vehicle collisions fell 76%. The question I am left with after reading this isn't about AI; it's about opportunity and how race and place determine it: If Black African students are writing essays that get the US students into college, then shouldn't those Black African students have a chance to go to those same colleges too?

When i was homeless the thing that moved the needle for me (and got me from homeless to homeowner) wasn’t sweeps or drug education or “outreach” programs It was having a safe place to shower, use the restroom and store my stuff. A place to catch my breath. House the homeless.

Laura G Mitchell@lauragmitchell.com · 2d agoLiving in a walkable neighborhood is great for so many reasons… including being able to sneak a block away to a quick dinner out at your fav Japanese restaurant with your wife & then walk home quickly after bc your new puppy can’t be left home alone for long yet.
I’d also note that of all the ways it’s possible for people to be pulled Rightwards, it’s through this system of belief. Ableism is SO indoctrinated into our society regardless of party affiliation and the health care system has so failed us, the MAHA attitude is more appealing then you think.

The right-wing organizing around the Lindsay Clancy trial is growing and it’s frightening. A lot of people overlook these culture wars revolving around women’s issues, because, well, they’re women’s issues. But the right doesn’t. It’s how they regained such a massive cultural foothold.
I get that revving your engine was a sign of automotive power for more than a century, but every time I hear somebody do it now I can't help buy think "My dude I don't care how much you've tricked out your ride, an electric family SUV could probably beat you out of the blocks any day of the week."

As a former professional football player, I can confidently say that this essay is incorrect from every conceivable angle, and contributes heavily to the culture of toxic masculinity that still infests high schools and colleges across the country.

In times of peace, football prepares us for war.”
Nathan wrote a good article. I'm quote tweeting in the Black way (to talk about a different point without derailing his thread). 🤔If Ben thinks you need to play football to build character, learn teamwork, leadership, etc, and girls don't play football... what does that say about his view of women?

Every one of those brave and inspiring people you hear about on the news was exhausted and terrified the whole time. They were sad and angry and wanted to crawl into a hole and not come out. They wished they could have stayed in bed. Then they did it anyway. But they did it scared and sad and tired.
