Interesting fact about the mistletoe: it has one of the largest genomes so far sequenced in plants, 94 gigabase pairs. That's about 30 times the size of the human genome, 600 times larger than the model plant A. thaliana. With so much DNA per cell, maybe those ancient Greeks had the right idea?

As we enter the last week of Hugo voting, a reminder that October Daye is up for Best Series, and winning would be made SO MUCH SWEETER by the fact that I could take my trophy and inform the room "I'm going to Disneyland," then ACTUALLY DO IT, since Disneyland will be less than a mile away. WOW!
