the ken jennings thing is pretty solid proof that this website is not in fact run by the transgender mob as people insist it is. his thread has literally thousands of positive interactions, has been shared hundreds of times, and his page looks like there's no issue, he's just posting as normal

A really funny complaint about the Zohran discount grocery store idea is that non-poor people could use it when there’s a grocery store half a mile from my grocery store that has everything cost 20% more that rich people go to because they don’t want to shop with normal people.

I'm not sure most cis people are even aware the fascists want to detransition and forcibly impregnate trans men, even though they're saying it right out in the open. I think most cis people's awareness of trans issues really is stuck in 2016. They think it's all about sports and bathrooms.

can you guys retire "the right wing / chuds don't know what to do with trans men and forget they exist and will be So Confused by them!!!!" already. they are fully aware trans men exist and the thing they do to trans men is violently abuse and murder them

Big shout out to all the people who were mad at me for not wanting them to vote labour cause they were “certain labour will be better on trans rights than the tories“, they couldn’t have done it (segregation) without you

Just a reminder that: - this isn't for workplaces and if your work is trying to implement it scare them over discrimination claims - the onus is on the service provider, not the service user to comply - the code *itself* says enforcement of toilet facilities is unworkable and low priority

EHRC Code of Practice comes into effect today so remember to be an absolute pain in the arse to any service provider who is trying to actively enforce it.

LRP: The vertical view of gender—with men at the top as the "full, complete" human gender—is a much older way of understanding gender than "the gender binary" and remains a big influence on how we see the sexes today. Women have long been viewed as defective, inferior versions of men.

okay but, this is the way we fight AI in everyday life we need to foster an atmosphere of disgust and repulsion of AI, like AI is like seeing a roach in a google review. Get up and leave the restaurant. "um, I just saw some AI stuff, I just... I dunno, it's gross haha. I'm good. thanks. Thank you"

jess m. 🌤️@jametc.bsky.social · yesterday

we need to be normies about this and be like "EEEWW... IS THAT AI? THAT'S SO GROSS.... EW IT LOOKS SO GROSS (gag noise) UM, LET'S GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. EW LOL" normalize being outwardly repulsed by it physically

Similarly the nostalgia people have for early Twitter, the fact that black Twitter made it the cultural force that it was and simultaneously had a big hand in multiple cultural revolutions of the mid 2010s made it necessary for it to be bought out by the world's biggest white supremacist.

(no hate to this thought there is much to love about it) It's interesting thinking about this kind of nostalgia theoretical to me. Trans ppl who weren't middle upper class or stealth were borderline unemployable in my country and the only mainstream trans campaign in 2002 was "let us be stealth".

I’ve seen a lot of health care workers rightfully sharing their memories from 2020, and their anger at how their struggle is minimized. I hope that they understand this feeling of being forgotten is akin to how many high risk patients feel today, when they have to beg health care workers to mask.

and it's EXTRA fucked up when you pair it with removing the parts of odysseus's return that make him look bad (e.g., he doesn't have the slave girls killed for being raped anymore, now its *penelope* who kills an enslaved woman. literally making a woman do the violence to keep ody's hands clean)
