One of the things I got to see at GenCon was the cover art for the next issue of the Mag of F&SF, which holds my story "From Hell's Heart I Reach to Thee." It's one of my best (IMO) and I'm so stoked that it's going out into the world soon.

Reminding my American friends to check to make sure they're registered to vote way before November. Even if you think you are - doublecheck just to make sure you don't fall pray to shennanigans.

Back from GenCon! It was great seeing so many folks, including some I hadn't seen since before the pandemic. Definitely didn't get to hang with everyone I wanted to, but there were only four days to do so. :)

I rejoined the Democratic Socialists of America last night, after, ugh, like 40 years, having been a member in college. It seems to me one possible way forward; god knows both democrats and republicans are both complicit in creating the plutocracy we live under now.

I ordered 15 author copies of my book MOVING FROM IDEA TO FINISHED DRAFT to have for handselling and for reasons unknown, Amazon sent them in 8 separate packages, including one box of six and I am just boggled as to how that makes business sense.

Yesterday, WIRED learned that Madison Square Garden was suing us for our accurate reporting. We stand by our work. That’s why we’re removing the paywall from two of the MSG stories they don’t want you to read, making them free for everyone.

I had a delightful experience last week when @kijjohnson.bsky.social came and talked to my writing community about her story "Mantis Wives," which appeared in Clarkesworld Magazine. It was such a great talk! Over and over she would talk about a particular aspect of the story and then...

Yesterday Kij Johnson talked to my short story club about her story "Mantis Wives". It was such a great session, and I got SO MUCH out of it. I'll be putting the video up later today and highly recommend it for fellow short story writers. SO GOOD.
