Am I being over-sensitive here or does the term “side effects” have an inherent negative connotation and therefore this headline is sci-comm malpractice? The “side effects” are reduced risk of serious cardiac complications and reduced risk of all-cause cardiac events. Benefits. That’s the word.

Instead you want to start by taking healthcare and education away from people who have been made vulnerable by the structural injustices you create and benefit from.

in line with the previous posts, pretty much the only meaningful risk factor with estrogen as it relates to HRT is nicotine usage and smoking cigarettes, so it is deeply upsetting to see how much both have made a come back in recent years. girls can you please use literally any other substances 😭

Alejandra Caraballo@esqueer.net · 2mo agoNPR is comparing a trans woman fleeing Texas for her personal safety with a conservative fleeing Seattle because he was annoyed with his neighbors. This is honestly insane both sides framing to a degree that is just blatant lying by omission.
You can see why people will take a pay cut to get a remote work job when you realize the experience of living in 99% of America is generic suburbia and you can cut your housing cost by 50+% by moving to a cheaper part of it.
When I was doing research for my book on BLM, I interviewed a police officer who told me that in law enforcement they often know charges won’t stick but they file them because “you might be the wrap but you won’t beat the ride.” The point is torment, conviction would be a happy accident.
