This is nonsense. Missouri voters have vetoed a congressional map before, and the U.S. Supreme Court has upheld voter-led initiatives for congressional redistricting. Hoskins lacks the authority to do this, and he has delayed signature verification for several months to try to run out the clock

A lot of complaints about Dems are exaggerated/hyperbolic but on gerrymandering, they really are disaster. It's one of the areas where you can legit question whether this is a party that even cares about winning. Imagine thinking we're getting court packing when they can't even do THIS stuff.

If blue states can't even get the nerve to gerrymander their states to the maximum, there is just no chance US Senators (some of which will be coming from these very states or further to the right) can be trusted to take on a radical measure like expanding the courts

We’ve seen exactly how this goes: NYC mayor 2021; Garcia lost by 0.8% to Adams, but Wiley would’ve lost 45-55 (per the CVR) Garcia was ideologically in between, so her voters split but Wiley’s flowed to her. They’ve done the equivalent of insisting on Wiley, ofc it’s failing!
