For last few months, I've been playing a lot of Cyberpunk 2077. I took a more relaxed, roleplaying attitude, and it's absorbed a lot of leftover Fallout energy. I'm going to post thoughts about here just to get them out and express some rare positivity on my end and focus on the fun.

In October last year I was fired by Rockstar Games in what we believe was a union busting move. We lost our home. We lost 2 jobs with my partner being forced to resign. We lost a community. Most importantly however we had to leave our two dogs behind, one of which will never return.

The severity of these firings could have spelled the end for a burgeoning union effort that was underway, but it didn't. I think we need to switch from the phrase "establishment Democrat" to "corporate Democrat." In fact, I think we need to go even further and start naming the companies and billionaires directly. Musk Democrats. Thiel Democrats. Bezos Democrats. Palantir Democrats. OpenAI Democrats.

(1/2) Really good games, especially larger ones, require a team with rapport. People who are used to one another, who share values, both personal and artistic. As these teams are shredded across the industry, people are going to see a lot of disappointing games getting made.

The timing of this kind of press is intentional. How are they going to make these games when Bethesda and Obsidian collectively laid off hundreds? Don’t fall for it.
