Cycled 8km across Dublin this morning from Goatstown to Grangegorman & I experienced motorists running red lights and illegally blocking junctions EVERY time the opportunity arose. Busses couldn't move, cars were frozen at green lights, everyone was endangered. There's no law on the road anymore.

"As you cram onto a crowded train or get passed by a full bus in the rain this winter, remember that the government is glad to raise your fares and to use the money they promised you for service improvements on the petrol that you don't burn".

Commuter groups have described increases in public transport fares as "absolutely unacceptable", accusing the Government of asking bus, rail and tram users to "in effect" cover the "astounding cost" of an extension in cuts to Excise Duty on petrol and diesel

If you, like me, can't believe what you're reading this morning regarding hikes to public transport fares, join us to discuss this and more this evening in Wexford Town.

So the government cut excise on fuel to reduce fuel prices but are increasing public transport fares because of inflation. In a cost of living and climate crisis. Make it make sense.

Commuters to face increased fares on buses and trains
Rising cost of State funding for public services has been a spending concern for some time

A 6% increase in public transport use, roughly four times the population increase Record numbers using the trains in the history of the state Today's announcement about a public transport price increase is a farcical failure of policy, completely incoherent #Ireland #ClimateEmergency

Reading an article about how we need an outright ban on e-scooters and following it up by reading an article about how the scrambler ban has no impact cause the Gardaí aren't trained to pursue them. I hate connecting dots and I refuse to do it.

Micheál Martin says he's "leaning towards" banning e-scooters because of rising injuries and the misuse of e-scooters and scramblers by criminal gangs. But those are two completely different problems. One is public health. The other is criminality.
