Right! Harvard and Yale (which is enacting a different--and worse--policy: to force a median of a B grade in every course) admit only students who have had stellar grades their whole lives and then expect (via forced policy) that some kind of bell curve will emerge? It makes zero sense.

I can't imagine trying to grade all these students who have done everything perfect their entire lives, gotten A's on everything, just to look for reasons to give 80% of them B's, C's, and D's. Sounds painful.

It's absolutely the norm in our field for scholars, often senior ones, to publicly direct their ire at people trying to de-platform the reputaion of known sexual predators, not at the sexual predators. The "but his work?!" and "Don't let his mistakes define him" is beyond predictable. 🤮
