This convinced me that it’s time for @mayor.nyc.gov to hit the ejector seat button on NYPD Commissioner Tisch, even at the cost of his political capital. Tisch is plainly not guided by the common good of the city in her decision making, just a mass of parochial grudges and interests

This satellite altimetry plot compares sea surface height anomalies on July 30–31 between the 2023 and 2026 El Niño events. With a peak Niño-3.4 index of +2.0 °C, the 2023–24 El Niño was the fifth-strongest event since 1950. But it is nothing compared to what is developing now. 🌊🧪

This idea is growing on me. Floyd Bennett Field has tons of paved space and is a pain in the ass to get to. I wouldn't want to retrieve my car from there over a parking infraction that is easily avoided.

Its cool that major democratic organizations know that they have a policy position of letting schools and sports agencies decide who gets to play sports, but then say "actually these restrictions may be good overall so don't forget them!" because Republicans want to ban trans people from public life
