Anarchist ecosocialist supplyist high density cyclist bully cancel-culture warrior - replete with lies! Or so I've been told.

After almost waiting a year, I finally received a copy of my FOI request to the provincial government of British Columbia about plans for passenger railway service along the Sea to Sky Corridor plus details about intercity bus service. It's 2,000+ pages so this is going to be an ongoing thread.

I’m at a Seattle city club event, and local FOX anchor Hana Kim just demanded that Mayor Katie Wilson respond to Spencer Pratt’s claim that people are flooding into Seattle to be homeless because they love the lenient access to drugs here. People are clapping for Spencer Pratt.

It's come to my attention that some people still don't know the history of the Fraser Institute, and why they shouldn't be trusted. Here's 5 reasons why you shouldn't trust the Fraser Institute.

New: Health Minister Josie Osborne nixes overdose prevention site planned for 900 Helmcken St. in downtown Vancouver, citing concerns raised. Says province and Vancouver Coastal Health will "fully engage with stakeholders and community ahead of any new site opening."

“Vancouver continues to experience the highest rates of unregulated drug deaths in B.C. During this public health emergency, it is critical that people at risk of overdose have access to timely supports and services that save lives and help prevent serious harms, including brain injury.

“Vancouver Coastal Health is working to establish overdose-prevention services in Vancouver’s downtown core and recognizes the importance of ensuring these services support both vulnerable people in need of care and the businesses, residents and workers in surrounding neighbourhoods.

“Since intentions were announced to open a new overdose-prevention site on 900 Helmcken St., I, along with my colleague, Terry Yung, Minister of State for Community Safety and Integrated Services, and MLA for Vancouver-Yaletown, have heard concerns from the city, local businesses and community partners. We, along with the Ministry of Health and Vancouver Coastal Health, are committed to taking steps to fully engage with stakeholders and community ahead of any new site opening. Vancouver Coastal Health will not proceed with the overdose-prevention site at 900 Helmcken St. at this time, and there is currently no planned date for opening.

“The Province is committed to working collaboratively with the City of Vancouver, local businesses and community partners to ensure people can access life-saving services, while addressing concerns raised by the community and supporting safe, healthy neighbourhoods for everyone. The mobile overdose-prevention site will continue to operate to provide a limited number of services in the area.”

To my mind, the most interesting thing about OneCity's council primary is you have two of the most "build more housing" advocates in the city in Peter Waldkirch and Russil Wvong running for the "build more housing" party And a lot of the establishment is supporting a group that sidelines them

meanwhile in vancouver's largest municipal politics facebook group, talk of the city's "real" residents "who have lived here for a long time" needing to "vote for anti-development parties" to stop the type of buildings "seen in East Asia"

I can’t think of another provincial government pushing a study through academic peer review that was so visibly infested with undisclosed conflicts of interest and easily discernible methodological flaws — breaking journal rules. This should be hugely alarming for the academic world.

I urge academics across the continent to push back on this serious breach of practice. Your work relies on the integrity of ethics, disclosures and peer review. All three appear to have failed here — with immediate and deadly public policy consequences. 7/ drugdatadecoded.ca/centre-of-re...

question for the 🇨🇦 telecom law nerds out there: does a computer server, or any computer, that does "transmission or reception of intelligence by any wire, cable, radio, optical or other electromagnetic system, or by any similar technical system transmits" count as a "telecommunications facility?"
