thread. plenty of people have been warning about the harms of what is marketed as "ai" it's just they aren't techbros, the solutions aren't venture capital, and the harms are real things that hurt real people, like harassment and labor violations, not imaginary catastrophes for imaginary people

What I can't get over is the Dems out there trying to transphobia their way out of these numbers. Just out there riding the crest of the wave, doing morally unsupportable pandering to bigotry at a time when it is also strategically foolish, just for love of the capitulation game.

I’ve just seen a lot of discussion of this chart here and elsewhere wondering whether this is because of paywalls or loss of trust in media or because young people go to tiktok now. sure, a little. but the vast majority is: before, google made you click something and now, no click
