Barnett@ericacbarnett.bsky.social · 23h agoThis is obviously going to be a big showdown in the fall, when the council will argue to vastly expand police surveillance of neighborhoods all over Seattle. Nationally, this isn't really even a left-right issue—right-wing surveillance opponents have many of the same arguments as left-wing ones.

It's the first translation I've sponsored, something I've wanted to do for a long time. When I read Soysal's "Dawn," I knew I wanted to see her other work in print.
