it’s cool that if you turn on ESPN nowadays you’re fairly likely to see the 24th best QB in the NFL discussing the lab leak conspiracy with a man in a tank top

The notion that people in major metros like SF or NYC are living in “bubbles” was always ridiculous. I can hear 4-5 languages in a day. One neighbor wears a burka and another is Israeli. FFS the bubbles are small towns with 2 churches where everyone has the same white great great grandparents.
New Yorkers had to subsidize the $117 million that the NYPD paid out for misconduct lawsuits in 2025 alone, even though most of them were never personally abused by a cop. Where's your worried op-ed on that one?
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
Demanding to examine a child's genitals for them to play sports is fucking insane
An initiative on the ballot in Washington state in November would require all athletes seeking to play girl's sports from kindergarten to high school to undergo "genetic screening, a testosterone-levels test, or an examination of their reproductive anatomy" before they can play
We know this is a lie because 100% of them voted for Trump who literally has lost a Supreme Court case over a rape case
Claude Code is like airplane WiFi. The first few times I encountered it, I was like “This is amazing and it changes everything.” After a few months I realized although it’s quite useful, it also kind of sucks. Now all I see are the ways it could be better but fails to live up to its promise.
One of the most important issues of our time is that the future of humanity is presently being authored by people who have nothing but total contempt for humanity and seek the erasure of everything that gives being a human meaning. It’s not just annoying. It doesn’t just suck. It’s existential.
It’s pretty jarring we’ve just come to expect that the feds will lie to us and publicize false information and that there is virtually no consequence for it.
The Justice Department is admitting that a $14 million renovation on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, DC, was flawed, and is dropping the criminal case against a former Olympian that accused him of damaging the pool, according to a new court filing. https://cnn.it/3RJJnwj
FIFA has a funny set-up where every country gets exactly one vote which means small countries are way overrepresented and you can hang on to power by promising little giveaways to those countries and their reps. Thankfully no similar system exists in the United States government, that would be bad
In case anyone needs a quote from me about this: "I'm still not tired of winning." www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
Trump DOJ loses bid for New Jersey voter rolls, now 0 for 18
The ruling arrived one day after New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill (D) formally rejected a new DOJ request for personal information about people mistakenly registered through a software failure.

kids, i have something exciting to tell you. I just financed a cybertruck through x the everything app. also your mom left
Kimi K3's weights were released, making it the most powerful open weights model in the world. Been reading it since it came out, page one starts strong: mostly negatives, a late run of zeros, and one unexpectedly large positive value.
The PS3 becomes 20 year old tech this year. At the time the PS3 was released, an equivalently old piece of tech was the Atari 7800.
Political winter for this party isn't enough- they haven't just burned through foreign and domestic goodwill to appease an increasingly demented white nationalist tyrant, they've done so thinking they'll be in power forever in defiance of democracy and the Constitution itself.
1. It could be "the end days" for the Republican Party. That's how Jake Sherman put it when the co-founder of Punchbowl News shared the latest by the Emerson College Polling Center. x.com/JakeSherman/...
Maybe we could take a break from ALWAYS finding a way to criticize Democrats for Republican malfeasance. There is virtually nothing Beshear can do to change this situation. Place the blame where it belongs.
The longer Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear fails to find out what’s happening or what happened with Mitch McConnell—and act—the more Beshear looks utterly incompetent and weak.
I note again that the next person who can explain why it’s good for Democrats in any way to fill an effectively vacant seat with a Trump rubber stamp will be nobody
Oh, look, Mitch McConnell is trending again, thanks in part to posts like these. Genuinely at a loss for what they think Gov. Beshear should be doing. Kicking down hospital doors? Hacking medical charts? Bribing doctors to violate HIPAA?
Not going to delve into the methodology, but this map is big for my every event should be in Minnesota so we can hang out agenda.
Having an in person international or national event in America? Are you weighing factors like lodging and transport? Cool stuff to do? Here's a map to consider if any of your attendees may possibly, even remotely be LGBTQIA. And you care about them.
He’d rather mourn the dead ICE agents in his imagination than show an ounce of sympathy for the people his agents have killed. Also, if an ICE agent ever needs to be buried, I’d give it even odds that it will be because they were mistakenly shot by another agent.
Homan: "I said this a year ago -- if they hateful rhetoric doesn't stop there will be bloodshed. And unfortunately I was right. And I'll tell you something else -- it's not over yet ... I'm afraid we're gonna bury an ICE agent."
Hugging Face was hacked last week and had to use GLM 5.2 as part of their analysis of the attack because U.S. frontier model safeguards blocked usage for cybersecurity purposes. Chinese open weight models are definitely having a moment. Anthropic can’t get them banned fast enough.
Hugging Face hacked: Turned to Chinese LLM for help after US models blocked Blue Team
Expensive, proprietary US models were no help to Hugging Face’s defenders, and free Chinese ones were; that’s a warning sign.

Every day this guy does something like this and every day the same people who dress him up as a terrifying commie destroyer of civilization do a dozen things to sabotage the public good, to murder and destroy and hate and kill, and I can't anymore handle those who won't see the clear difference.
This summer, we kept the lights on all night, every night, at five soccer fields across New York City. This was the scene at Calvert Vaux Park in Gravesend, Brooklyn Tuesday night.
He feels cornered. He sees what will happen when we take back power, so he’s lashing out the only way he knows how. Election conspiracy theories didn’t save him in 2020. They won’t save him in 2026.
because ICE is less than 25 years old so most adults know what a world without it looks like and also because the “abolish the police” folks said it meant exactly “no law enforcement at all”
Why is it so easy for people to understand that ”abolish ICE” doesn’t mean “never enforce immigration laws” but when they heard “abolish the police” they thought it meant “no law enforcement at all”
He also says "the greatest fighting force on the planet, not even close." We started a war with Iran and instantly lost; the budget should be $0 until the Pentagon explains that. If their answer is "we told Trump it was a bad idea," fine, but they have to say it. "Give us more money" isn't enough.
Mike Johnson says that the Pentagon is requesting an additional $350,000,000,000 for things like "fighting Communism on our own shores"
News organizations should periodically stop and look in the mirror and ask themselves “Have we internalized copspeak to the point that our headlines indistinguishable from police department email subject lines?”
Officers shooting a man, running away from law enforcement, who is not a target of law enforcement, and who poses no threat to law enforcement, is murder. Federal officers do not have the power to commit summary executions because they are aggrieved.
Exactly. The president is going to spin some incredible lies about the 2020 election and the media -- and every single Democrat in the country -- has to be ready to smack this bullshit down immediately. Not a mealy-mouthed fact check or, golly, this is weird. Call it out as an assault on democracy.
Journalists: please, please get ready for this in ADVANCE. We know Trump's going to claim "new evidence shows the 2020 election was stolen". You've got 3 days to write a story that confronts that lie head-on before he says it - pre-write this like an obit. America is begging you: plan ahead. 1/
Every elderly Republican senator's wiki bio is like: Famed for bipartisanship, he co-sponsored the Expand Education (1977) and Anti-Radio Monopoly (1986) acts. His later career was more controversal, with the Legalize Puppy Murder (2021) and Sex Island Tax Relief (2023) acts drawing some criticism
