Good afternoon, #HorrorWritersChat! It is wonderfully cool today, and a storm is raging outside! A perfect weather for tonight. I am EXTREMELY excited for tonight's topic, as it is one of my favourite choices. When a promise is false. When hope is but an illusion. Tonight, the horror of LIES.

#HorrorWritersChat There was not a mark on her skin, nor trauma in her brain. She was, as the fae had promised, completely free of any damage or division after her time in their kingdom. In fact, she had been blessed, and the fae made sure that when the child was born, their rule would begin.

I do love a good writing prompt. Thankfully, so do some of you. One more question after this, then the promo. Thank you to all but the one who did for not promo-ing already. #HorrorWritersChat

...as promised, when when the clock struck the last of the 12 chimes, but he didn't want to talk, and he couldn't look us in the eye; he would scream every time we got close to him. It wasn't until when we forced him to open his mouth, that we saw she had pulled out all his teeth #HorrorWritersChat

The Fairy returned the child exactly as promised "Where the hell are all his teeth?" asked the mother, horrified "Oh no, he must have lost them during the trip," said the fairy, with mischief in her eyes. "Shame. By the way, what do you think of this ivory necklace?" #HorrorWritersChat

#HorrorWritersChat The fairy returned the child exactly as promised. Two eyes, blue as sapphires. Full petal pink lips. Small button nose. Ten fingers, ten toes. Blonde hair, thin and gleaming in the daylight. No one ever said the child had to be in one piece.

#HorrorWritersChat The fairy returned the child exactly as promised: in a serious of plastic bags. Each tied at the neck with a piece of string and a hand-written label attached. The words on the labels constituted an enchantment. Piece the child together, read the words, invoke Lucifer. Simple.

His mother was dead, bones ashes on the wind. His father died trying to save him, a thousand cuts pouring a thousand drops of blood. And his sister, well she wasn't someone who could take care of a baby. So he had to go to work, pudgy fingers mining coal, eyes shining like lamps. #horrorwriterschat

#HorrorWritersChat The fairy returned the child exactly as promised. "We have brought the small, as was," they whispered. Mother screamed. Father near-fainted. Timmy had been pulled limb from limb. But then stitched back together with fishing line. "We promised our harm undone. No strings."

Q3: #HorrorWritersChat "As I promised, here is your child. Good as new." "It's been fifty years. His mother is dead. I am ailing. What am I to do with an infant?" "So you do not want him back?" The pause was long, heavy, and sat in the air like a weight. The words could not be said. "I see."

The fairy returned the child exactly as promised. Well, not exactly. Because now she hides in the corner all the time. She talks about rooms with no doors and sharp-toothed roommates. And every now and then, she laughs madly while looking in the mirror. And the mirror laughs back. #HorrorWritersChat

Something wriggled within the cradle. Hope kindled in Maggie's chest…until she pulled back the blanket. The gooey half-formed fetus struggled until it stilled. Just exactly as promised: the way he'd been before any of this happened. Maggie howled her anguish to the stars. #HorrorWritersChat
