Like a decade ago, I thought that, despite being a liberal, I would be uniquely situated to interact with marxists, because I have read quite a lot of Marx and I'm quite sympathetic to much of it. Sadly, I didn't account for the complication that marxists don't actually read Marx

MAGA, including MAHA are crashing and burning. We do not in fact have lend legitimacy to utter bullshit. The science is on our side, and while it will take some work to maintain and build public support, I believe this is a fight we can win.

And look, I'm just going to say it: antisemitism is doing to the US political left (not just leftists/DSA) right now, before our very eyes, what transphobia did to the British political left, and anyone who doesn't see it is choosing not to.

The most true thing I’ve learned about politics over the last decade is that people who revel in cruelty are untrustworthy allies of the left. If you follow someone who engages in and celebrates cruelty, even on social media, because you like their politics, they will betray you and those politics.

Maybe I'm misremembering, but I don't remember people trying to push Harris right in October. Harris lost and that's a tragedy, but inventing people to get mad at is useless for evaluating the loss and learning appropriate lessons.

All to "fix" a made-up problem. At this point if you have a problem with immigration, you are either stupid, credulous, or evil. Destroying people's lives to placate the racist and ignorant.

The second strategic failure is that the American people (re)elected a worthless fucking moron like Donald Trump, who is boundlessly confident despite knowing nothing about anything and so asked the US military to do the impossible for no reason at all because he got lucky in Venezuela.

The errors here are all strategic and there are two of them: First, someone (Caine, it's Caine) needed to tell Trump, "if you order us to do this, we will try it, max effort, but it is impossible and we will fail to achieve it." He needed to say that *bluntly* and given the reporting, he did not.

Different states have different rules for filling senate vacancies, so I can understand why people would question a Democratic governor not looking into McConnel. However, we've been at this for weeks now, and prominent accounts (especially journalists) have had plenty of time to learn KYs rules.

There was a lot of pushback after it became clear how much of a fuckup Bush was to the idea that electing Gore would have been better. The dumbest being the insistence that Gore would have also invaded Iraq — a line of argument that you still sometimes see pop up

This is the exact same reason why leftists nationwide are feeling increasingly comfortable shunning black liberals entirely. "Black voters will never vote Republican anyway, so why should I bother appealing to them? They'll fall in line for anything, let's go chase the racists playing hard to get."

People will keep writing stories about what the Democrats have done wrong. You’re still not dissuading me from thinking the bigger problem might be us, the voters. The stakes, the consequences, have all been crystal clear.

Thankfully there are plenty of people who would love to immigrate to America. As long as you don't subscribe to racist/pseudoscientific ideals of race/ethnicity all of the potential problems of low birth rate are easily solved through immigration.
