A gracious concession: “I want to congratulate Abdul El-Sayed on winning the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. He is a doctor, a community health official, a Rhodes Scholar, and a dedicated Michigander. I am proud to offer my support as he takes on Mike Rogers in the general election…

It is funny that this person thinks “immigrants defended the union while native born whites sought to destroy it in the name of slavery” is an argument against immigrants being Americans. This is precisely the point, nothing about being born here makes you better bsky.app/profile/aphc...

Another datapoint for the fascist radicalisation of institutional pillars of much of the American Right

"Studies demonstrate that misinformation continues to influence a subject’s memory, inferences, and decision-making processes even after they have explicitly acknowledged and accepted a factual correction or retraction." The lies work.

The questions, President Trump labels as stupid are almost always the ones that simply ask him to explain a position, but which he cannot www.johndickerson.com/p/presidenti...

A dark money campaign is offering influencers $1,500 per post to attack Abdul El-Sayed and support Haley Stevens. Same exact dollar figure that was paid to attack @katmabu.bsky.social (Nobody ever found out who was paying for that campaign.) Gross, lazy and above all cynical shit.

Secret paid influencer campaign backing Stevens floods Michigan Senate race

Rep. Haley Stevens and the Senate Democratic PAC said they were not involved in the effort to pay for user-generated content endorsing her.

Can't get numb to this: The United States is stuck in a war it started, cannot end, and may further escalate to no avail, having dismantled its diplomatic apparatus, depleted its military stockpile, and destroyed its credibility. A historic strategic mistake harming millions in many different ways.

Dang, 220 million voter files stolen by China starting in 2020? Who was president back then, it sounds like he must have sucked ass

I would like the White House to engage in international conflict with a more sophisticated strategy, greater self-control, and a closer connection to factual reality than my 7-year-old has when trying to get extra screentime. I don't think that's too much to ask.

Scan your local news today. How many stories are about something climate change is making worse...without saying so? I counted 8 of those in my feed today, vs just 1 that named climate change directly. Why does this matter? Research shows that making this connection changes how people see it.

Nine screenshots of my google news page today, each describing issues that are directly impacted by climate change, from more dangerous wildfire to changing flood policies.
