It's so bad. Even jobs at places that once seemed "stable" aren't. And with editors being laid off and budgets being cut, there are less opportunities for freelancers to pitch, while it feels like even more people are trying to freelance because of lack of full-time jobs.

wonder how many publicists are using AI to run their emails now. I got pitched on a band, wrote back to explain why I'm not writing now, and they replied immediately with a slightly tweaked version of the same pitch. Pretty weird look for a major PR firm.
What if instead of being asked not to use AC on a 100-degree day, you were suddenly unable to create an image of yourself riding a log flume with a photorealistic Crash Bandicoot.
