this show has the same problem that game of thrones, sons of anarchy, and a bunch of other 00s and 2010s shows had, which is that the showrunner eventually decides the villains are the most interesting characters in the show, and so every character becomes a different flavor of villain

A friend and I hiked the same glacier a decade apart and had drastically different experiences (hers was way scarier) because the route I took apparently no longer exists cause it collapsed from climate change.
