I make video games. Full time programmer by day and working on all aspects of my own projects the rest of the time. My latest release is the revamped version of my puzzley platformer The Top Hat Club 🎩 https://thetophatclub.daviddurhamgames.com

Still trying to get better at Godot in my lunch breaks by making a short game. I had a play with the lighting, world environment adjustments and added some mist particles. I actually quite like how it's looking now (even with placeholder assets).

To celebrate the rerelease I'm going to post some videos from early development! This is the earliest recorded footage with just the controls / movement idea for mobile

Who wants to make a PAPERS, PLEASE-style game about getting your child ready for each day of school, using the crumbs of information from the principal, the teacher, and the calendar, in their emails, PDF attachments, and assorted apps?

A while back we had the wonderful opportunity to pitch a Red Dwarf adventure game directly to Doug Naylor himself. While the project didn't end up going ahead, we're now free to share some of the work we produced for the pitch!

Learning Godot in my lunch breaks, I was very happy to find the 'Open Dominant Script on Scene Change' setting - as I was getting muddled when switching between scenes and not seeing associated script. I get why it's not the default, but it works for my brain 🙂 #godot

Played TR-49 today. I’ve seen a lot of people say they finished it in one sitting, but I couldn’t find the time for that. However, I really enjoyed the hour or so I spent with it today while it was dark and rainy outside.

Trying to book a family holiday, and reading reviews where people use “AI” as shorthand for “all inclusive” is very jarring (and took me a shockingly long time to work out what they were talking about 😅) e.g. “ice cream available with AI”.
