I just reviewed the 2026 Ward 9 candidate info on The Local, and I’m honestly concerned that Alejandra Bravo still hasn’t released a detailed platform. #Ward9 #Toronto #TOpoli #TorontoElection #MunicipalPolitics

The Local (@thelocal.to) has released their Candidate Tracker for the upcoming municipal election valuable background on all your, um, local candidates if you plan to vote you do plan to vote, right? (that wasn't a question, it was an imperative😉) #Toronto #TOpoli thelocal.to/candidate-tr...

Given the structural problems revealed by @strongtownsottawa.ca, I'm curious about a fee-based system where you pay for the actual infrastructure and services your home requires. So downtown no longer subsidizes suburbs. Super radical and probably unconstitutional, I realize. But a guy can dream.

Great episode by @mikepmoffatt.bsky.social and @adammongrain.bsky.social, worth a listen. Standardizing building codes would help. It's also interesting to see how mutual recognition—essentially “one registration, recognized everywhere”—plays out in the future.

New episode! Today I interview Adam Mongrain of More and Better Housing about ways that Canada can build... more and better housing. Watch here: www.youtube.com/watc...

Jean Chrétien: "It looks like they don't know what to do. When your big thing is to change the name of a lake, it's because you're running out of arguments. It is a very weak gesture, to be cheap and nasty. Lake Ontario is not suffering. It's a lake." #cdnpoli

The gov't removing them is a gov't these residents didnt elect to make this local decision & which is overriding decisions of the level of gov't they elected Theyre overriding decisions made through a democratic process at another level, with no ability for the ppl affected to challenge the decision

Many are saying that the mechanism to hold a gov't accountable for decisions is to vote. But the residents of these communities engaged in the democratic process & elected a municipal gov't that supported these bike lanes. The local gov't consulted residents, voted & implemented the infrastructure.

Reminder: this case didn't come down to Cycle Toronto's "bike lanes good" v. the province's "bike lanes bad" evidence. The province's own internal documents (and their staff briefing to cabinet) confirmed that bike lanes do not cause traffic congestion and ripping them out will put lives at risk.

One of the final projects I worked on before leaving the city was a walk-through of this building during its initial conceptual stage, alongside Mary MacDonald from Heritage. It’s exciting to see this project nearing completion and opening to the public soon.

Toronto's latest arts venue is a revamped waterfront property near Billy Bishop airport

The 9,600-square foot venue on Eireann Quay is adjacent to Ireland Park, and near Billy Bishop airport.

45 years ago the Premiers successfully bullied PET into getting natural resources entrenched as exclusively provincial jurisdiction, "forests" absolutely understood as natural resources in this context. (S. 92A) The "national strategy" is for the Premiers to do their jobs!

Canada’s premiers and Prime Minister Mark Carney are set to discuss a national strategy for dealing with the forest fires ravaging the country. As first ministers prepare to descend upon Charlottetown this week, Premier Doug Ford said firefighting would be at the top of the agenda.
