Hegseth: "Today, at my direction, I'm establishing the Office of Religious Affairs. It will report straight to the top -- a direct line to the secretary ... as Psalm 33:12 extolls us, blessed is the nation in which God is the Lord"

Public anger comes for John Roberts The chief justice’s summer retreat in Maine used to be one of boating, potluck dinners, touch football and easy friendships. Locals called him “John.” Now a swirl of anger has been rising at him, transforming his getaways. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/01/u...

Ruby Bridges was 6-years-old when she stepped into the history books. Bravely accompanied by her mother, she was the first Black child to desegregate an all-white school in the South. It was not long ago… Today is her birthday. She is still with us. She is 72. Happy birthday, Ruby Bridges 💜

@jmberger.com This is what stochastic terrorism does: Young women were walking in my community 10 days ago. A white woman instigated a fight & attacked them with racial hatred. A man chased them down & murdered Bri. My city is silent. I am profoundly sad. No national news. bsky.app/profile/alex...

HATE CRIME #LNK #Nebraska #BriChol “Bri liked to have fun. Bri wanted to be a nurse. Bri has a family. Bri loved her family…you should not have to be scared for your life as a black woman, as a South Sudanese girl, to walk down an alleyway.“ -Bri’s friend Lavaeh Stephens youtube.com/shorts/2Z4ZI...

My kids have measles, I can't afford diesel, my country has been humiliated by Iran, and I have explosive diarrhea from a parasite the CDC no longer monitors. But at least now I can go to the lesbian bar without putting on a mask.

Everything the pro-Trump billionaire Ellison family will now own: Paramount+ CBS CNN Showtime HBO Warner Bros TNT TBS MTV DC Studios Nickelodeon Comedy Central And more... With this comes the power to decide which stories get told, but more importantly, which stories DON'T get told. Shameful.

The legal system that the Trump administration has been weaponizing against immigrants and the left is not something of its own creation. They inherited this legal machinery from the war on terror, and until we dismantle it, all of us are at risk. Please, please read this.

After 9/11, the US built a separate system of justice — a national security exception to the Constitution — that largely targeted Muslims. While non-Muslims were assured it would never apply to them, that assurance has expired. It is now being used to take aim at immigrants and the left.

last night we had ed sheeran apologizing for saying what’s happening in palestine is bad and at the same time david byrne putting up a huge graphic that says MAKE AMERICA GAY AGAIN and showing footage of ICE brutality to a sold out crowd. you can actually be famous and successful AND give a shit.

I have never in my life been bothered by a trans woman in a bathroom or anywhere else. I've been sexually harassed by straight men in every conceivable situation since I was a teenager.

Cis people do not understand how much trans people's rights have regressed in just 5 years. 5 years ago, there were none of these restrictions. 19 states banned legal recognition 21 states have bathroom bans 8 states ban gender marker changes on DLs 25 ban gender affirming care for trans youth

Mike Johnson punts on oversight of AI companies: "Congress is obviously less qualified than the people who are pushing this frontier to know the ins and outs of it"

People get confused about the trans sports thing because at a glance it seems like a small issue that impacts a very small number of people and thus makes sense as a "reasonable" concession. But it isn't, because conceding that is accepting that a kid's trans identity is on some level fraudulent
