She/her. Novelist, writer, fan of amaro. Stanford, USC, Seton Hill. Has no idea what’s going on but will probably get a degree in it. Trans rights are human rights. Multi-coastal (NYC, her own mind). Needs another cup of coffee, back soon.

I know it’s so pedantic, but I hate it when people throw toga parties and then wear a Greek chiton off Amazon with, like, a gold meander pattern. That’s why I always teach my students how to tie a proper bedsheet toga—because Rome.

What I have found is that DDG is good for “basic” web searches and G is still best at very specific searches (all of which I do with “!g” searches). When DDG improves at specificity, I won’t need G at all. (General: American civil war Specific: Gettysburg July 4 battles)

Recently started using Duck Duck Go and I have to say it’s nice to not have my search history stolen and funneled into social media sites and my email and every other website I visit

That's what taxes are, man. That's the definition of taxes. "You are subsidizing things you might never use" man shut the fuck up. My taxes currently subsidize like oil company exec private jets, you think I'm upset at low-income people eating inexpensive bananas?

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

“Blanche Gives G.O.P. Senators Written Assurances on Trump’s I.R.S. Deal” 1/ Blanche didn’t sign the IRS assurance. 2/ There’s still a huge IRS break for the Trumps worth tens of millions of dollars. 3/ Trump could reimpose the $1.8B insurrectionist slush fund later, after Blanche gets confirmed.

Blanche Gives G.O.P. Senators Written Assurances on Trump’s I.R.S. Deal (Gift Article)

Todd Blanche’s confirmation as attorney general has been held up over concerns about a planned $1.8 billion fund for Trump allies and the president’s immunity from tax scrutiny.
