There’s another important story getting buried in the brouhaha over a “national ban.” On the call, Blanche said the DOJ is putting policies in place so “prosecutors will no longer be able to use the FACE Act” to go after clinic attackers—even after Trump leaves the White House

I was so pissed last night, watching viral videos claim that Blanche promised to pass a national abortion ban. That's not true, and it's not helpful. Because what he actually said is super dangerous, but getting buried

There's a lot of conservative excitement about this new 'study'—the right-wing rags are already all over it. Please know it's published in an anti-abortion journal by anti-abortion authors—including a concierge-medicine doctor who does body contouring and sells “anti-aging” supplements. 🤡

Who could have guessed that when you gut the CDC and put a quack with no medical expertise in charge of American healthcare, diseases we had eradicated would come back and there would be explosive diarrhea situations happening. Just no way to know.

Guaranteed: 1) Black girls will be harassed and demanded to be tested over and over again regardless of how competitive they are. 2) Winners from public schools will be relentlessly hounded by the parents and coaches of losers at private schools, with the goal of making them quit the sport.

The ban is heinous for what it does to transgender athletes. But if you think cisgender girls and young women won’t be caught up in the fallout, too, you are woefully ignorant

Working on candidate scorecards for all of the sponsors of HR 7661 & a quick question for all of our authors, publishers, librarians, and readers in blue New York...Y'all cool with this? Maybe you get yourselves to NY-24 to help give Tenney the boot!

Claudia Tenney running for U.S. Representative NY-24. Is a cosponsor of H.R. 1776. This national-level book banning bill would grant the federal government decision-making power over what books make it into local school libraries. Rated: Red. Authors Against Book Bans

We live in a time dominated by deeply unserious people making deeply unserious arguments in support of tragically serious results that serious people would have both avoided and known to avoid.

I have been publishing YA novels for 20 years. I have seen a lot of nonsense written about the category, but this HarperCollins imprint has set a new bar. If anything is “cynical” or tailored for “shock value,” it’s this campaign, which might as well be from Moms for Liberty. This is loathsome.

A table claiming to show how YA books from Blink are different.

So many people urge us to vote if we are dissatisfied with our democracy. And yes voting matters. But as today’s Supreme Court ruling tells us, it’s not that simple. Not everyone who should have the right to vote can exercise that right.
