I'm seeing a lot of people invoke the figure of the intersex person in current discourse on sex and gender, especially in relation to the UK government's anti-trans segregation regime. But the actual voices of actual people are getting lost. This buried report offers vital evidence to counter that.

college admissions people talk about this too - you can throw out the entire admitted class of an elite college and pick a new one from the rejected students and they will be completely indistinguishable in terms of achievements for competitive positions there's never any objective best candidate

Okay so I’m visibly queer in a rural redhat area, and the last few years every time a kid who might be queer notices me they stop to tell me they like my septum/tattoos/hair, etc. We chat. Like a mutual “I see you, you see me” moment. Something, something, the importance of being visible, ya know?

Nome@nome.bsky.social · 4d agoSide note: If a walking stick or cane seems like a fun accessory, I (as a disabled person who has had to use a cane from time to time) heartily encourage you to use one! And if it at all makes your life easier, I encourage you EVEN HARDER TO KEEP USING IT.
