i’m never gonna be able to fire a cruise missile yet the question of using my tax dollars for them has never been up for debate
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
i guess i’ll post this now and hope i have something to go off in the morning, but — i would like to talk to writers/creatives about where they draw the line when it comes to using AI. is using AI for things like research/fact-checking ok, and if so, what is the point where it goes too far?
This is really depressing. Neko Case doesn't name names, and nor does she need to, but I believe her. If anything, she tends to be honest to a fault--this post illustrates exactly what I mean--and abso-fucking-lutely does not hold back (except for said dude's name). [ht: @rahnealexander.com]
IN WHAT FUCKING UNIVERSE?
This last week I was just cookin’ along minding my business when I suddenly found myself quite depressed.

Oh, my God. Nicest guy. Was on the Pogues bill at Carnegie with him. His love of music was palpable, infectious, radiant. I’ve seldom seen a musician as connected to the moment of the song as he was that night, in deep communion with the song & the people playing it. So many felt it. Hard loss.

A message from my dear friend Tasneem in Gaza. Please help Tasneem and her family, if you can. Like the many thousands of displaced Gazans, they rely on our donations to survive and raise funds to ultimately flee to safety. No amount is too small. 🙏💕 chuffed.org/project/1587...
So today I learned there are little doors in the gates to the Colosseum in Rome because the city cats go there at night to sleep. cc @darthbluesky.bsky.social
I took a hard look at the financial donors to ICE’s biggest supporters in Congress. These are people who want to significantly expand ICE’s power and have sponsored or co-sponsored legislation to do so. Here are the top 25 consumer brands bankrolling the biggest ICE supporters in Congress:
okay found the folder - On the old TCJ messageboard, someone posted the photos of Tony Millionaire and Kaz - Tony is making a face after pulling out his bridgework, but it looks like a mini-singularity is sucking his face into another dimension
I should find all the photoshops I did putting Tony Millionaire into famous photos and paintings
