As someone who voted for Steve Novick in his U.S. Senate primary against Jeff Merkley, I find it interesting that his current politics on Portland City Council has him aligned with a donor who has given $30k to Christine Drazan since 2022.

I had a good conversation with TriMet leadership and other local leaders from East Portland about what’s next for the agency. There’s no sugarcoating it: TriMet is in a tough spot right now.

Great article in @portlandmercury.com by Jeremiah Hayden. There is a current push to institute a universal human rights screen for Portland's corporate investments. Councilor Zimmerman is claiming that such a policy - and its advocates (including @jwjpdx.bsky.social) are antisemitic. Huh?

The terminal is pretty but greenwashing. Wood was not sustainably sourced and it’s financed by future parking revenues. Sustainable aviation fuel is a greenwashed false solution. PDX can’t massively expand air flights and claim to be “sustainable” It’s really straightforward BS-ing.

In election-season fashion, Councilor Mitch Green has been put on blast by opponents for anti-police tweets he made in 2020 following the police murder of George Floyd. Simultaneously, rapper Macklemore made headlines after being dropped from Ed Sheeran’s tour for saying “Free Palestine” onstage.
