This is sort of true, our existing bus system doesn't connect he last mile that well to the Genesee Park, but that's a failure that Seafair and Seattle could ask Metro to address rather than just throwing their hands up and "opening" a bus lane up for car traffic.

Just waiting to cross MLk at the light at a Graham, two different people passed me biking along the sidewalk. Imagine how many people would bike if we actually had biking infrastructure in Rainier Valley. Could we start with bike counters on both sidewalks, Seattle DOT?

I should have kept count but in my bike down MtS trail to LWB to Seward and return, I had to have passed 500+ if not many more people. Hard to tell when trying to keep moving (brompton exercise!) but I rarely went more than a hundred feet without passing 1 or more folks or being passed myself.

Turns out we can have nice things.

Sorry to any kids that love that puddle, but we have to admit behind the scenes we've been asking Seattle Parks to fix it.

Saka characterizes his proposal to let individual council members choose which routes get funding is a "more rational approach" that provides "oversight" to King County Metro's service planning and the levy itself, if approved by voters.

We ran into a family with a little boy the same age as ours playing at Genesee Playground. They had their bikes and had come all the way from Issaquah to check out Bicycle Weekend. They left to get food in Columbia City afterwards. Bicycle Weekends is a regional draw. Huge win for the neighborhood.

We are very glad that the city got this figured out yesterday. Bicycle Weekends look like a street closed to cars, but it's really a space that parents across the city have come to rely on to give their kids independence that is too often impossible on our "normal" streets.
