Based in Seattle. Writes comics (Judge Dredd is the one you’ve heard of), makes web stuff for a living. "an idiot who's just throwing them all around the spectrum to sound intelligent"

i'm not a "both parties are the same" person, that's obviously not true, but it is true that everyone in the federal government exercises class solidarity with each other to some degree, and for SCOTUS that degree is something in the neighborhood of 99%

The fascist monopolization of US media, intent on ending what's left of democracy on behalf of billionaire mobsters, was finalized by a Democratic-appointed SCOTUS justice.

Gavin Newsom: “We can’t deny the Paramount Merger, what if David Ellison decides to take Paramount out of California? We will lose an entire industry!” David Ellison the day after the merger goes through: “Anyway, we are going to do mass layoffs throughout the new organization.” Newsom is an idiot

we fucking loved it, even when there was basically nothing on it, and let me tell you something else: we loved it because of human connection, human diversity, human creativity. WE DON'T NEED A SINGLE THING ANY OF THESE COMEMIERDAS HAVE MADE AND TRIED TO SELL US IN ORDER TO HAVE A GREAT INTERNET.

i especially love all the dopes saying “when the internet first went mainstream everyone hated it too” like it happened in the pioneer days so no one can dispute it, like mf’ers we were THERE

talking with "good faith" conservatives about policy is incredibly frustrating because you eventually figure out that the basis for their beliefs is a combination of easily disprovable factual assertions that act as window dressing for unshakable reactionary gut feelings

i know a lot of people really, really want gaza to be a two-sides issue that maps cleanly onto US electoral politics, but it isn't. the mainstream of both parties supports the genocide, because the US as an institution supports the genocide. i know that's uncomfortable but you can't run away from it

kinda breathtaking to watch the U.S. media establishment lose its shit about one maybe-plague death in a Russian backwater town with 3,887 confirmed measles cases reported in the United States, SO FAR, in 2026

Like I said, even if the Ellisons had made good on their promise to move Paramount out of California in protest of the merger being cancelled (which was itself an open question), you were still going to lose an entire studio and its employees if the merger happened. And now it has

Following the final approval of the Warner Bros.-Paramount merger, CEO David Ellison promises "difficult decisions that affect our workforce." tinyurl.com/5n7jnxe4 That's all, folks—Skydance immediately hints at massive layoffs

one of the ways the media shows which side they prefer, is which politicians they quote uncharitably out-of-context and which they clean up for even when what they actually say and do is offensive (the Biden story ran on the front page less than a week before the 24 election)

When Trump posted a video of the Obamas as apes the NYT claimed "it was unclear if Mr. Trump was aware" that he posted it

Now-obsolete slide. I showed in my intro course a mere five weeks ago. WBD and Paramount collapse into a single entity, the Big Four becomes the Big Three media companies that bring in more than 90% of revenue depending on how you measure (we studied the Big Ten when I was in college in the '90s).

ME: hi, i've got an interview in room 126 in 15 minutes, could you please give me directions? GUARD WHO ALWAYS LIES: take the south elevator to the basement, last door on the right. love your outfit btw, i wish you luck ME: *entering the south elevator* what a nice interaction 🥰

RIP Jeffrey Archer, not a day goes by when I don't think about the judge in his 1987 libel case (which Archer "won" by doing a bunch of perjury) summing up for the jury by going "would a guilty man have such a hot wife". one of the most insane legal moments of all time

Sad to hear about Matt Howarth. Just this morning, soon after hearing he had died, I finished reading this illustrated copy of K.W. Jeter's Dr. Adder, and finally looked at the indicia to find the drawings l've been digging were all by him
