Interested in figuring out how to build better housing, transit and cities. Construction lawyer; advocate for East Bay for Everyone. Oakland.

With school is back in session and colleges about to start, cancelled buses aren't just causing longer waits, they overcrowd remaining buses. We need more AC Transit directors like Jean who will work to improve bus reliability. Support @valencia4actransit.bsky.social for ward 3! 🚌

This feedback really sucks to hear, but it helps us understand the extent of the problem. I will continue to push for reliability improvements at AC Transit.

“AC Transit buses are increasingly unreliable”

CPUC requires trains entering stations to slow to 35mph and 15mph where pedestrian crossings are present. Metro operators seem to be even more conservative because of how many incidents there have been with people getting struck and killed by trains.

If you’ve dealt with late or cancelled buses recently, consider chipping into Adriana’s campaign for AC Transit board Ward 3 - I donated yesterday after experiencing a cancellation at 9pm.

I'm running for @rideact.bsky.social Board of Directors to bring reliability, affordability, and government transparency to our bus service. I'd love your support of money and/or time—I'm up against a deep-pocketed opponent who's been on the Board for 17 years. secure.actblue.com/donate/valen...

No problem getting to BART this afternoon, but the return trip cancellation getting home from @rideact.bsky.social is brutal.

Glad to hear @rideact.bsky.social is trying to get its act together on reliability. Here's every other 6 bus cancelled in downtown Oakland at 2:30 on a weekday. Would have been late for a doc appt if I hadn't just caught one that's running. Cc @therealjeanwalsh.bsky.social for awareness.

The AC Transit Board is increasingly hearing from riders about our reliability crisis. We need to keep the focus on improving service. This is not OK.

Let's all get on board with Adriana's campaign. And when I say "on board", I mean voting, posting, talking to friends, volunteering, and donating cash. If you want better bus service in the East Bay, and you care about saving transit, let's get the right people on the Board!

13 minute headways are not bus rapid transit! A 53 minute wait is outrageous, even if it only happens 5% of the time. Anyone who has another option will stop riding the bus. AC Transit should be treating unreliability as a major crisis, giving it the same attention as they are the fiscal cliff.

1T, which is the East Bay's premier BRT, is supposed to have a median wait of 5 mins. But riders are actually waiting on average for 13 mins for a bus, and 5% of the time there is a 53 minute wait which means ZERO buses running on the entire line!

Weekdays: Route 1T riders typically waited 13.0 minutes; 5% of riders waited at least 53.2 minutes.

Weekends: Route 1T riders typically waited 13.8 minutes; 5% of riders waited at least 52.6 minutes.
