I prefer disenfranchisement because a certain subset of core voters are the fundamental problem, and things like party bans are a high stakes game of whack-a-mole. But if you prefer extremely high stakes whack-a-mole over the obvious solution, it's better than nothing.

If liberal democracy survives this era it will only be because it has learned to (carefully) wield a handful of the important (if illiberal) tools necessary to keep it from becoming a suicide pact
