I'll be looking for work soon and am in the process of crafting a portfolio website for the first time in a few years, but in the meantime if you know of anyone in need of a narrative designer (or illustrator, even) please keep me in mind 🥲

for @mothership.blog today, @zoehhannah.com wrote this lovely profile of Em Halberstadt, the sound designer for Big Walk, a game in which sound is perhaps the *most* important aspect. the game (which is a must-play imo) includes a ton of real-life Australian wilderness sounds that Em captured.

South of Midnight is a master class in cultural appreciation

I’m a French Black woman whose favorite game of 2025 was not Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. And how could it be, when South of Midnight was released around the same time?

playing dark souls 2 for the first time and keep thinking about how ian mackaye once said that bands have a special moment where their skills are far enough along to fully express what they have been working towards but not so far passed that point to either lose sight or move into something new

Forget Starlight is being printed by Shane at Grub Grub Press who did a killer job and is absolutely delightful, helpful, and professional. If you are working on an upcoming TTRPG please consider working with them instead of any of this horseshit. grubgrub.press

That’s a Mixam founder boasting about their new AI business 😬 Mixam has been a quality lottery for some time and I’ve been telling people to avoid them for a while. Another reason to be glad I’ve ditched them

Post reads

You're opening a café. You need menus.
Signage. Loyalty cards. Branded cups. Staff tees. Flyers for the launch. That used to mean six suppliers and a design tool you'd fight with for a week.
Now it's one conversation. You describe what you want. It arrives at your door.
That's Rendreal. After 20 years building Mixam into a global online printing business, this is my next act: a consumer brand where the whole experience is one conversation. Backed by Cimpress, the company behind Vistaprint.
The product works. It launches this summer.
Now I'm hiring the person who tells the world.
Head of Brand and Growth. Founding role, first commercial hire, reports to me.
The job:
• Build a brand around real objects. We sell the thing that arrives, not the technology behind it.
• Run a content and creator engine. Our viral unit is a real person opening a box.
• Get Rendreal recommended inside ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. New channel, no playbook.
We write it.

Forget Starlight is modular game that is as much about Courtiers, Disavowed Assassins, and Emblazoned Gun Nurses as it is about how we generate stories by finding a throughline when faced with ever-shifting locations and circumstances. Truly something special, can't wait for folks to check it out.

Perfect Tides: Station to Station comes out today on Switch! I'm very proud of what Edmundo and I have accomplished getting this AGS adventure to console, and I can't wait for more people to play it.

Launch day for Station to Station on #NintendoSwitch! We can only do so much to market under all kinds of variables like budget, the economy, other games launching, and people’s mindset. I still stand by this timeless classic that @meredithgran.com has created, and hope people play it when they can.

Amberspire is a city builder that understands "city" through a narrative assemblage of historical fragments informing & enriching architecture, population, and challenges. Place, in all its wooly facets, is beautifully realized and feels so far removed from any tabula rasa infrastructure simulator.
