If this area of land had the density of Barrington or Spring Garden that'd be like an whole extra annual city budget's worth of revenue which would result in a HUGE drop in the tax rate. But, we'd rather pay for parking as long as it's disguised as property taxes

Yup. I've been taking drone photo shoots for this purpose exactly. Just to show people how much wasted space there is. Bayer's Lake is the prime example.

Today is October 1st, Treaty Day in Mi’kma’ki. October 1st was designated in the Peace and Friendship Treaty of 1752-53 as a day on which the Mi’kmaq and British would come together, receive gifts, and renew their friendship.

A man replied to this saying in earnest that women need to get organized and fight for our rights and men will follow. We did that. We do that. We mobilized the largest single day protest in global history on every continent and yet I have fewer rights than my mom did at my age.

I literally don’t know a single woman who hasn’t been raped, stalked, groped, harassed, or sexually violated in some way at some point in their life. If you choose to doubt and dox survivors, just know every woman in your life is disgusted by you.

Here’s the most incredible story you’ll read today. A small plane with four people aboard crashes in a field. Another pilot witnesses it. That pilot happens to be flying a bunch of skydivers. They offer to jump to assist, are given permission. The skydivers happen to be EMTs. Everyone survives.

Skydivers alert emergency crews, assist after plane crashes near East Troy airport

Four people were aboard the single-engine plane when it went down in a cornfield near Carvers School Road in East Troy at about 1:30 p.m.

The last few times Halifax was given free money with a deadline (bike lanes, transit, windsor exchange) we blew through the deadline without even starting, got extensions out to around 8 years, still didn't manage to *START* planning before the deadline, and lost the funding.

The prime minister promised key building projects will wait no more than a year for approval. That means figuring out how to cut wait times by as much as two-thirds. thelogic.co/news/major-p...

Amidst all the turmoil facing Canada, I'm glad the recently returned House of Commons could cut through all the noise at home and abroad to promptly schedule the second reading of a Bill on a matter that brings all Canadians together: Jury Duty Appreciation.
