WEAVE (ward eleven allied voices for equity) were at southside, we outside today with a quiz on the city of minneapolis budget, which council president elliott payne got 100% on! the mayor also stopped by and was talking to them for like 20 minutes, apparently disagreeing on facts they presented

NEW EPISODE on millcityhall.com! The Charter Commission must be destroyed? Robin thinks so… We discuss democracy, and how pernicious it is to have a paternal, judicial body weaponized by one political faction. Public hearing on this bad proposal is Wed, May 6! Details in show notes

It’s telling what things actually get her upset. She will scream somebody down for continually pressing on an issue that she desperately wants to move on from. She knows how inadequate her response to the occupation (and any other “left” coded effort) was.

hearing that linea palmisano apparently yelled at a constituent for asking her about the city / police response to operation metro surge response yesterday at her 9am ward 13 office hours held at turtle bread. wildly inappropriate thing to do in general, and especially that early in a coffee shop

Great to be with @swaempls.bsky.social today; reflecting on 2025 and looking ahead to the rest of 2026; everyone was so deeply involved in responding to the surge; I’m so proud of everyone’s work; I also noticed how reflecting on it brings up so many feelings, still lots of healing work to be done

Like what I witnessed in that room is the best way to be in community. It’s what I believe in. I wish I could bottle and sell it. That space was a GIFT, that was love in public. And they’re doing another event April 23 (third Thurs). Put that on your calendar. Mark it.

Huge shout out to @swaempls.bsky.social - they put on an EXCELLENT public forum last night on stories from the ICE invasion. I shit you not that was a holy space they made for people to share. I had big feelings. And biked away believing that the folks/energy in that room represent real f-ing HOPE.

On the wall in her living room she posted big pieces of paper with the questions she asked the councilmembers. The posters were chock full of stickers, representing neighbors defended and supported. That was TWO MONTHS ago, and we’ve STILL got electeds handwringing about sustainable solutions.

elianna of southwest alliance for equity describes politcians who want to alleviate suffering, who want to cause suffering, and those who are indifferent. says some minneapolis city council members may be latter, not doing enough to help, urges them to talk to colleagues & constituents who do more
