when communities impacted by violence, esp gun violence, are given cops w/ guns or cliques w/ guns as their only safety options, the cycle of violence only continues. over-policing does not stop violence. violence does not stop violence. we need safety that goes beyond policing.

This bill included every GOP request on school safety and mental health. The MN GOP is led by gun-happy extremists who will not compromise. Not for a grieving, traumatized community. Not for our kids or even their own kids.

As long as gun lobby-backed lawmakers refuse to take action and strengthen our gun laws, gun violence will continue to seep into every facet of American life. No one is immune — not children in their classrooms, nor politicians.
