yes. it is like the Holocaust in this way. you have never seen a truthful depiction of either of those things on screen because it is impossible to accurately depict them. you could not do it to actors, to children, you could not make it as bad as it was.

Bit of a long shot here, but: a friend is looking for a wrist support that you can attach to a computer mouse so it moves around with you -- apparently this used to be a thing (possibly made by Fellowes?) but neither of us can find any evidence of it still existing. Ring any bells? Any ideas?

About 15 years ago, I wrote a story for Viz about exam results day and the Telegraph and Mail’s barely disguised boner for teen blondes jumping and smiling. And it got published, because I don’t think it had been skewered before. And now that appears to be a standard joke. And that feels quite nice.

commission art about Palestine. commission art about Ukraine. don't wave flags or do statements, make the art that speaks in the highest and best ways to the horrors of the world and of human life. then make it available to as many people as you possibly can. that is your job.

fwiw my view on this is: arts organisations, please stop trying to do "here is a statement about an issue". you ALREADY MAKE ART. the art you commission and create is your statement; it is nuanced and subtle and most importantly you *know how to do it well* unlike this absolute shambles.

It's honestly remarkable to get to a point where your opera house's official position is that literally everyone in Tel Aviv is not a fit a proper person to even be able to *listen* to your opera, but a chorus member waving a Palestine flag is also bad for some reason.
