In your article, you mentioned a graphic "Only You Can Prevent Data Centers"- that you thought was made by AI. It wasn't, it was made by me, an artist that is very much against AI. In fact, I turned it into a shirt and raised money for a local arts education nonprofit in Chicago.
I'm not a fan of google's AI but i learned from @faineg.bsky.social that flock cameras contain a bunch of copper and at least a couple of grams of gold, so i guess in this case only it's right to trust the ai
“Search ‘how much gold does a Flock camera have’ and Google’s AI Overview doesn’t even push back a little bit. Instead, it flatly asserts that a ‘Flock safety camera contains about 1 to 5 grams of gold used in its internal circuit boards and wiring.’”
Taking my time to really listen and learn from the very valid concerns of the MAHA movement:
we should hear MAHA out about this they might be onto something
I made my professors pull what was left of their hair out by making the point in *every* essay I had to do on Billy Wigglestick that writing entire works in iambic pentameter may require genius, but it was also pretentious and masturbatory. I don't think I won them over, but I made my point. :-)
Everyone stop and look at this negative review of Romeo and Juliet I found. "Shakespeare's pretentious ass writing style" is SENDING me 😂
Because inevitably someone will note my deep love of em-dashes and ellipses, and throw accusations— No AI. No LLM. Not in my writing, not even for research. The technology has its place, but not in my work. And _pay for what you stole_, tech companies.
being in a situation where you need Literally Every Single Dem on Literally Every Single Vote is a recipe for getting mad at the Dem party all the time because you give maximal leverage to its worst members elect enough Dems and you’ll be less mad! it’s basic math!
This is such an great feature (Rebecca is great!), and I've been thinking about it for a few days. IMO, "Influencer" in the ten-years-ago sense was really a LOT of jobs (spokesmodel/copywriter/etc.) but now it's morphing, at least in part, into "intentionally annoying person" which feels worse.
The Influencer Recession
Once upon a time, lifestyle influencers could post cute photos and make millions. Now they are forced to pivot.

Ofc anyone should be allowed to have as much consensual sex with as many people as they like, but I feel like the whole sex positivity movement really dropped the ball on those of us who don't actually need sex and/or romance to have fulfilling lives.
Clone degradation would explain the absolute uselessness of this waste of perfectly good organs. (Mind you so would the spineless money-seeking self-centered behavior of the entire GOP, but like.) (Did I mention I hate this guy? Because I do. I hate this guy.)
what the fuck is going on over at NPR that has them covering the grateful dead with more verve than pipe?
Getting real sick of slop midwives pleading for a 'respectful discussion' of AI as relates to the arts. Your use of AI to 'make art' is not respectful. It benefits from stolen art, destroys the planet, and does not make you an artist any more than someone driving 26.2 miles is a marathoner.
Just remembered a bit of dream from last night where an antlion in a terrarium hated me, specifically, and nobody could figure out why.
The thought occurs that having examples of your work prior to about 2023 is the artistic equivalent of low background steel
chat can anyone verify that every single Flock camera has about 2-3 Ibs of copper and about 1-2 grams of gold
JAWS and The Meg It's a horror movie for the humans, but a meet-cute romcom for the sharks.
Name 2 film franchises that need a crossover film.
Glad that all of this got resolved 100 years ago and none of these companies are alive to commit their horrors upon us in this modern age!
Fun fact: the guy who invented leaded gasoline was Thomas Midgely Junior, in 1921. He *also* invented CFC's By 1923 he had symptoms of lead poisoning, by 1924 several factory employees has already died of lead poisoning. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_....
Eighty years ago, Ann Frank was found and imprisoned by the Nazis. Today her equivalent would likely be posting online rather than writing a diary, and people would be telling her that there were no pogroms and that the German government was trying to help Jewish people.
With the exception of a roster of specific humans disappearing tomorrow, very few things would make me happier.
Not only would I be okay, but I'd be better off. Not having to navigate around bad AI responses when I looked something up online. Not having to disable features on my devices. Not having to spend and extra 10-20 minutes every time my PC updated removing unwanted features....

Call me crazy, but if a Democratic president had 350 accounts closed by their bank for money laundering it’d be more than a blip in the media

I finally did it. On the train I said out loud "damn, someone's headphones aren't connected" and they stopped playing their music out loud.
Had John Cougar Melloncamp grown up in Kzyrgystan, one of his earliest hits would have been "Yurts So Good."
