An example of this is The AI Dirty List, which has the following on their FAQ: "Why did you create this website?" We created this website to provide anti-AI consumers with a cheat sheet to enable boycotts, public mocking, etc. of pro-AI persons and companies. We think this is important if we want to repair the damage AI is doing to society. The issue here is if Rust ends up on lists like this one; people will see it, and may say things like[1]: Rust is being developed with AI? Bummer. I'll start my company's new software project in Zig instead. ...and these people will never use or contribute back to Rust.

hating AI isn't an ontological good. hate it for reasons that are correct or keep it to yourself and maybe listen to people who are comfortable with arriving at stances using reasoning when you hate it for trivially disproven reasons or stick your fingers in your ears, it weakens our entire side

derek's right and good, but also consider: i use my RSS reader every day. i (obviously) post on a 30 year old vbulletin forum. i keep a gmail tab open all day. i'm still on soulseek ffs you can still live in the old ways. you will miss out on insta and fb, but i promise you, you will not miss them.
