7. Here's what makes certain people uneasy: To accept reality of ADHD is to accept the system itself is disabling, which means the structures must change, & that threatens those who benefit most from them. Easier to deny ADHD than to accept structural change

Say what you will about the tenets of Suella Braverman's politics, but she is making academics everywhere feel pretty good about the sales figures for their niche monographs.
Suella Braverman selling 106 copies of her book after all that publicity is so delicious.

What are @wmata.com workers doing here??? Nothing?? WORSE???
One of my former students just witnessed this on Orange Line in the DC Metro - ICE/HSI abducting someone from the platform of Stadium-Armory. She was scared. She didn’t know what to do. She shouted “ICE is here!” to warn others. I’m proud she did that. And she bore witness.
huh, interesting that vance thinks this is the worst terrorist attack and not oklahoma city
“But what I try to remind people is, look, this is a guy who committed, in my view, the worst terrorist attack on American soil outside of 9/11, the people that he was meant to treat, the Army soldiers that he was meant to treat for mental illness and other problems, he took them at their (3/4)
seriously tho what’s a girl gotta do to be allowed to shout research ideas at people who study her conditions. do not make me get another phd after this. it’s actually p messed up that there is no form of patient feedback or focus grouping involved in research direction for most conditions
Once again I should be the person who says what ADHD research should be focusing on. Or like you can have a council of us open to any ADHDers with academic training. Too few of us are in the labs studying us bc we’re bad at memorization & thus often STEM and they are not studying the right things 😐

I think this arises from Trump perfectly understanding the goal of a business education (berserk imperialism) and having the social clout to not have to perform business-as-a-legitimate-field-of-inquiry as so many lesser businesspeople do. I find Musk similar in this regard.
ANYWAY, I will use this thread to wave the flag again for @andrewhickey.bsky.social’s “A History of Rock & Roll in 500,Songs” for a deepened understanding of many things I didn’t normally appreciate. 500songs.com?amp

This is possibly the worst thing I have ever read. It should be the only headline on every news source. It won't be. If you've experienced sexual assault, maybe don't read the details.
oh my GOD
I have to admit that, autisticly, this line of attack is annoying me. He clearly was making an argument balancing higher prices against an attack. It came out badly, because his brains are pudding, but he has both said and meant so much horrible shit that should be the focus of things like this.
Trump is the first president to call for America to be attacked. And his Republican allies said nothing. They don't care about you, or the country. Vote Democratic this November. The future of America depends on it. youtu.be/DhIeyeqI2Ng
I think if you’re not local to DC it’s difficult to comprehend how fucking sad it is to watch all this happening to this beautiful city. I’m barely local, as a transplant to northern Virginia, and I’m very sad
Lafayette Square isn't "a historic protest site." It's a fucking park. And it's packed on nice days. Calling it a protest site is White House framing. They're closing a popular public park to create a presidential palace Saddam Hussein would love.

I got a push notification saying this was about organizational conflict in a conflict resolution organization, like somehow that would never happen. Interesting case, but the article stops instead of fleshing it out.

Spent the weekend having fun at PJSA but was destroyed by my family. I joked that I should cosplay for my con, like my daughter does for hers. I asked what I should cosplay as and my wife said, "failed academic."
