Also fascinating is that some media are making so much noise about Eric Ciotti winning Nice, forgetting two things: Ciotti is not even a member of the RN, even if he has secured their support; and Nice has been hard-right for generations.

Paris remains socialist, and so - it seems - does Marseille. Lyon remains Green. Centre right and "republican right" candidates doing well.
