the willingness to say “what the fuck are you even talking about, you freak” is a refreshing commonality among much of the new Class of 2026 officeholders

They deserve what happened on Tuesday and theyll deserve everything that happens to them on the road to 2028
this is the moment at which the party — at both the state and federal level — are looking to trump for some sign of how he’s going to bail them out before 2028, and he just told them he’s going to bury them.

Good for her and shame on the political news media ppl that think Acton should just let that go
Q: I’m told that Vivek Ramaswamy left you a congratulatory phone call. Have the two of you spoken? Governor-elect Amy Acton: We can’t normalize behavior like this. It was so beyond the pale, so no, I have no intention of speaking to him. Leaders’ words matter and we need to hold folks accountable.
Genuinely so happy Ojeda somehow made it to congress.
That's weird, I was told elections didn't matter and that voting was silly. /s
Elections have consequences.
Black voter turnout held at ~96% of 2024, the highest rate for any midterm in at least a decade, in the Deep South on Tuesday. If Scott Colom manages to win Mississippi's Senate seat, it wouldn't have been possible without sky-high engagement of Black voters www.gelliottmorris.com/p/2026-11-10...
feel like the orban money drying up, the iran war, and the collapse of the republicans are going to produce some really interesting outcomes
Laura Loomer announces she’s going on hiatus from her podcast. I think we’re going to find that midterms end up being a mass extinction event for MAGA influencers.
Rahm Emanuel’s approval rating when he left office as Chicago mayor was 18%
What Democrats should do with their majorities, according to someone who's been there before. www.vox.com/politics/509...
This account voted for Trump and is now on instagram pretending to be leftist and bashing Democrats.. to great leftist applause
Look at this anti Hakeem & Schumer account.. Guess where it is located? Lololol
reskeet and screen grab for those of you who have him blocked cause this is FACT. Dems haven't had a fat majority in a loooong time but when they do, they get shit done. GIVE them that. Make the Manchins of the party irrelevant.
Half the discourse since 2021 has been people blaming "Dem leadership" because two holdout Senators tanked bills that 96% of the caucus voted to pass. When voters give Dems margins big enough to make holdouts irrelevant, the platform passes. Hold these majorities for 2028 and watch what happens.
It's satisfying that the margin in Foxx's district is going to be close enough that people watching this story and being horrified might have done it.
A 10-year-old student wrote a letter to Virginia Foxx about electric cars as part of a school assignment. Fox's office replied, "Ask your teacher to explain propaganda to you." Foxx was defeated by Democrat Chuck Hubbard.
Harmeet Dhillon reportedly plans to step down from her role leading the Justice Department’s civil rights unit, marking the first senior DOJ official to resign following Dems’ massive midterm wins

"It all puts Democrats in the driver's seat for 2028. If they continue to show voters they put them first, 2028 is in reach. Democrats are +10 in generic 2028 contest, and win Independent voters 66-34%" Obviously insanely early but a great place to start is a great place to start!

what i can't get over, looking at louisiana and mississippi and even alabama, is that the votes are *there*. it is absolutely possible with long term investment to make them competitive states
Uh oh, cops are having another temper tantrum again before they go back to doing absolutely none of this
Los Angeles Police Protective League official and LAPD officer Jamie McBride told NBC today: “If Nithya Raman becomes the mayor, the city needs to prepare for Armageddon. She won’t have to defund the police. Police officers will just leave the department.”
one argument i have been making in my column for like half a decade — and an argument i will make in the book i am working on 👀 — is that when breakthroughs happen, change can come all at once. i do think that the 2026 opens the door to major political reform
Per Axios: With Democrats winning trifectas in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Nevada, the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact now has 283 potential electoral votes, putting it above the 270 needed to take effect.
2024-2026 will be remembered as one of the stupidest national hysterias of all time a supposedly generational "vibe shift" completely disintegrated upon contact with Actual Republican Governance
AP Calls Boebert's defeat. You are legally obligated to celebrate by having an ethically dubious bisexual affair or by giving someone a handy
Every time! Every time they hate someone, every time they say "REMOVE XYZ NOW!" They *never* have anyone waiting in the wings! They had a *decade* to come up with someone besides Socialist Grandpa! The closest they got was a lady who came 3rd in her own state and Marianne fuckin' Williamson!
Not that I disagree with the sentiment here, but the last part of this is the key weakness in the Replace Schumer plan: they dont have anyone on hand to line up behind
You let these candidates that just flipped red seats "vote wrong" sometimes You don't get mad; you see we still WON the vote cause we had the numbers to allow those "wrong votes" & still win it 🤔 You reelect them in '28 & hand these majorities to a Dem president That's the ballgame

Listen to me. Look into my eyes. You are going to let those red state Democrats take turns voting no. You are not going to be mad about it. You are going to remember what states they are representing. You are going to be grateful they won at all. You are going to help them get a chance to win again.
Turns out, you should not, in fact, interrupt your enemies while they're making a mistake. And, in fact, American voters really do have to touch the stove. Simply warning them of negative consequences does *nothing*. They have to *experience it* for themselves. Dems can't save them from that.
My view is that Democrats largely adopted the Schumer strategy of letting Trump defeat himself -- there was criticism and opposition but no real effort to redefine the party post-2024 or adopt an alternate agenda for the election (a la the Contract w America or Six for 06). We'll see if it worked.
