Because it apparently needs to be said: I have never fucking used the AI/LLM/chatbot/plagiarism machine and I never fucking will. If you use it, I think you're a bad person.

This is one of the many reasons that people who believe themselves to be perfectly healthy end up with long COVID. No one knows how healthy they are, only how healthy they *believe* they are. Many host factors are known unknowns. At least once people have LC they stop questioning its existence. 🙄😷

"Nearly everyone is infected by a variety of viruses throughout their childhood and adolescence. A handful of these pathogens are never fully cleared from the body. Instead, they hide quietly inside cells for a lifetime, kept in check by a healthy immune system."

Patients who are forcibly infected by HCWs refusing N95s should be able to sue Hospitals are NOT enforcing😷 mandates so HCWs remain unmasked despite signs posted at nursing stations&in patient areas stating they’re required to😷 Those who😷,wear surgicals-improperly Hospitals are no longer safe❤️‍🩹

please please please all the ppl i like, if u are not already, normalize wearing masks in public🖤 this is a very common covid impact and so far, evidence suggests the extra times u get it can *compound* on u (also, u can catch/spread it without symptoms, vax wanes about 4mos out, +home tests=iffy)

I feel this. I’ve only had COVID-19 *once*, and my ability to do mental math has been partially compromised since, so I can imagine the effects that MULTIPLE infections would have on my mind

It's interesting all the health workers speaking out in videos etc about the realities of the pandemic early times. I'm a health vulnerable person with a health vulnerable son. My uncle died of hospital acquired covid just last year I want to yell WHY DON'T YOU CARE ABOUT US? Wear a mask! 😷

When have we seen the media talking about how a ‘mild’ covid infection can lead to 3 years of risks? Be mindful of the articles saying ‘symptoms no more serious than before’ they are referring to the acute phase but not anything that might be a chronic post infection risk!

Cognitive dysfunction and fatigue remain prevalent at least 3 years post-infection, particularly affecting attention, processing speed, and working memory. Pts included both hospitalized and non-hospitalized.

I’m intrigued by the recent resurgence of the ‘Long Covid is not real’ nonsense we saw back in 20/21. The refusal to learn is one thing, but the dismissal of reality is another. Long Covid is too painful, too common & too present in many people’s lives to be denied. The story is hard to rewrite.

When people die and the media says they had “pre-existing conditions”… they’re pacifying the public. Anyone could die from Cyclosporiasis, but they want you to believe it can’t happen to you. It can only happen to the weak, the disabled, the elderly. The expendable people. Eugenics.

Two Deaths Linked to Cyclospora Outbreak in Michigan

The patients had “significant underlying health conditions” that may have contributed to their deaths, health officials said.

The rest of us can “sod off and die” sums up end stage capitalism and the billionaire class. They’ve already targeted the vulnerable. The UK had a whiteboard at the beginning of Covid titled “who do we not save?” They placed DNRs into the charts of disabled people without consent. It’s a cull.

For all they care, the rest of us can just sod off and die, as long as the oligarchs and corporations propping them up get what they want.

We could have a good world. If not for the bottomless greed of power-hungry men hell-bent on taking everything for themselves, and brainwashing so many people to join their cult against their own interests, we could have a good world. Every time I see a video like this, I see what humanity could be.

And now, a little Vivaldi. Michel Tirabosco, a renowned pan flute player, collaborating with Raphaël Froissart. He is a professor at the Geneva Conservatory. Born with physical differences, he began playing the pan flute at 7 and has achieved international recognition for his skill. #streetmusic

If we care about disability justice, one of the lowest-hanging fruits is masks in healthcare. It remains unacceptable that vulnerable patients must ask, sometimes beg, healthcare workers to mask, while also explaining to them why respirator masks are better

Long COVID is "disputed" in the same sense that evolution is "disputed" - i.e. not disputed by anyone with any scientific credibility. Pretending otherwise just happens to be attractive to the Dunning-Kruger brigade whose negligence caused it by allowing COVID to get out of control.

From populists on the right, but also from establishment figures desperate to bury their responsibility, there's an ongoing push to bury the harms of COVID. Long COVID alone costs 7M life-years (QALYs) and on the order of a trillion dollars a year in the OECD. www.oecd-ilibrary.org/social-issue...

1. While a precise estimate of long COVID prevalence is still emerging, current research suggests that up to 10-30% of people who contracted COVID-19 exhibit symptoms corresponding to long COVID in the weeks and months following acute infection. Across OECD countries at a minimum, this would represent upwards of 39 million people who had or are currently living with long COVID. Sustainable investment in long COVID research is crucial to inform health and social care resource allocation. As the evidence base grows, developing standardised measures of symptoms and functional impact to support a more precise definition that enables the disaggregation of levels of long COVID severity could be useful to better understand the condition, assess its impact, and to tailor care and support.
3. Long COVID can severely limit people’s ability to undertake basic activities of daily life and can dramatically hamper quality of life. More than 7 million quality-adjusted life years may be lost annually across OECD countries due to the condition. Studies from across a range of OECD countries suggest that one sixth to more than one-third of people may have persistent cognitive symptoms, often lasting more than 12 weeks, after a COVID-19 infection.
4. Even conservative estimates of long COVID prevalence would indicate that long COVID may be reducing the workforce by nearly 3 million workers across OECD countries, amounting to an economic cost of at least $141 billion USD from lost wages alone. Moreover, even among those who were able to return to the labour force, a significant proportion reported needing to reduce the number of hours they worked, compared to before their infection.

Love to have a rando on here basically demanding to see my medical bloodwork results because they can’t believe that long covid is real. This is a proported leftist. There really is a problem and right wing people arent the only ones who are in denial. Have those conversations with people.

I’m permanently disabled by Long Covid & will never teach again thanks to going back in person in 2020 🙃 I thought I was doing something valuable bc I thought I was “young & healthy” but turns out sometimes you don’t know if you have an underlying condition until something like Covid triggers it
