the clark stuff is odd bc it isn’t really the left who politicized her. it was the right holding her up as an excuse to be racist to angel reese and to “own” the wnba by having a white straight woman come in and be the talk of the town. they’re the ones who made her a culture war pawn.

That seems right. Several organizers in Jackson, MS last night talked about “keep the main thing the main thing”, which means learning how to knock doors, have human conversations, “make people happy you called”, etc.

This is rough but I think it talks about a lot of what is missing from the Cunningham/WNBA discourse. Namely, that trans people are not hypothetical thought experiments. They are real people who are being genocided by our government & any coverage that doesn't center that reality misses the mark.

I have many a nuanced thought (and plenty of dumb, simple ones!) on the current state of dem politics, but one thing I will note is that when DSA candidates are ousting sitting dem members of congress in MICHIGAN, the “won’t work outside NYC and California” claim gets less and less salient.
