@atp.fm I love that iOS 27's rebranded Connectivity Assist has a per-network override, since I want it on globally (where I might face sketchy connections) but off on my home network (where I have ad blocking)… except that it doesn't work. My override keeps resetting when I leave home and return! 😩

The Constitution allows it. South Korea has proven it works. If you want to make impeachment viable—and so much else is pointless if you don't—then it can be done by a simple majority adopting a simple rules change: vote on the verdict by secret ballot.

A Democratic Senate Should Adopt Secret Impeachment Ballots on a Priority Basis

Such a change, requiring no constitutional amendment, would free senators to vote their judgment instead of their fears

"The most likely outcome at this point is that Democrats pick up five to 15 seats, resulting in Democrats holding 220 to 230 seats in 2027 … That range could shift further in Democrats’ favor over the next five weeks if Republicans are unable to effectively stem the bleeding."

The Cook Political Report is moving 15 House races, all in Democrats' direction, as the worsening political environment for Republicans has made the GOP's chances of keeping control of the chamber almost impossible. Read @erincovey.bsky.social's overview here:

look, you can't just punish trump when dems are in power. that might make republicans do something crazy, like stage a coup, illegally shred the federal bureaucracy, or even vstart abducting people off the street and extraditing them to torture sites all over the world
