Good morning. Welcome to the UK, where our equalities watchdog has a handy guide on how to hatecrime people you don’t like the look of in public toilets and the Tories are standing a Neo-Nazi local government candidate who was jailed for antisemitic harassment.

Just a reminder that: - this isn't for workplaces and if your work is trying to implement it scare them over discrimination claims - the onus is on the service provider, not the service user to comply - the code *itself* says enforcement of toilet facilities is unworkable and low priority

EHRC Code of Practice comes into effect today so remember to be an absolute pain in the arse to any service provider who is trying to actively enforce it.

Oh no! Poor “women”, (by which the Times means “transphobes”) totally on their own! And against one of the poorest, most marginalized & disempowered minorities in the country, with only the help of the entire mainstream media & £ millions in donations from wealthy fascists and billionaires!

REMEMBER The guidance coming into effect today doesn't dictate what you're allowed to do as an individual. It for service providers and business owners. Do not cower in fear, do not reduce yourself, do not isolate, that is one of the intended effects.

1. Do not get angry with Jess for putting this out there. 2. We must not become despondent & give up. Piling on lots of nasty stuff at the same time shows that is what Burnham wants. 3. There are a whole load of reasons/ways to keep resisting however. This will cost Labour the next election.

A short thread explaining trans exclusion in the law, and the Code of Practice, in response to a load of questions 🧵 Obviously this is necessarily simplified. I cannot write a legal textbook on Bluesky.

“Every single person who marched today is proof that we are not going anywhere, that our joy is louder than their hate, and that London Trans+ Pride will keep fighting, keep loving and keep growing until every trans person is safe, seen, and free.” Solidarity with all marching for trans justice. 🏳️‍⚧️

150,000 march through London in world’s largest trans pride, organisers say

Protesters voiced anger at the new guidance on single sex-spaces and fears that trans people are being excluded from society.

1/ As things stand with Emily right now, she has one year of college left. We are yet to meet with the college to discuss things. As Emily’s course is sports and personal training it essential that she can eat and drink. This is something I know she won’t do if she can’t use the right facilities.

Spare a hug please for all mums & dads of #TransKids wrestling with this summer break of heartbreak and stress. Thinking today especially of @fiercemum.bsky.social who is particularly tuckered out this week 🫂🫂🫂🫂💐🙏 Emily's mum too @emanemz.bsky.social all through the grinder. 💐🙏

Reposting this; Labour’s new schools’ “Section 28” for trans kids should really be called Labour’s “Ambient Conversion Therapy”. It is way, way worse than Section 28 ever was. We must never allow anyone to forget Starmer’s & Philippson’s culpability (& Burnham’s if he fails to change it).

Words by Dr Natacha Kennedy, a trans academic from Goldsmiths University  There’s no point in beating about the bush, the government’s new anti-trans “guidance” for schools is about harming trans chi...

This whole injustice with Heather should be a wake-up call to all of you in the UK trans and non-binary community. What "the law" *is* doesn't matter. How the law is applied and who it is applied to, does. 1/4
