i think part of the data center/AI backlash has to be that big tech made an awful lot of promises about how plentiful and abundant the future of technology would be and then have spent the past five years or so clawing it back and adding exceptions.

I do think “every rich person went insane during covid because it was the first time they’ve been inconvenienced in decades” felt a little reductive at first but damn if isn’t more and more compelling as the years drag on

What Pablo Torre did was ridiculously impressive. Uncovered a conspiracy between rich guys, withstood a propaganda campaign by one of the richest guys in the world with a pretty good reputation, didn't buckle or panic, and just kept reporting. That's some Pulitzerin' right there.

"Centrist" Democrats are conservatives. They are hijackers here to steer the party away from serving the interests of constituents and toward serving the interests of corporations and billionaires.

“The two centrists, Reps. Jared Golden (D-Maine) and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-Wash.), are known to rarely attend party caucus meetings or heed leadership's instructions on how to vote.”

The bar for progressive policies is: "did this unilaterally solve the entire gigantic systemic issue without making a single person sad?" The bar for conservative policies is: "did the people pushing this yell out the name of a real problem before doing something unrelated, cruel and ineffective?"

Opposing a policy that would increase city revenue because the city doesn't have enough revenue, chef's kiss.

The media gave more coverage to a totally fake, invented idea that the federal government was withholding aid to Hurricane Helene victims in 2024 than to Trump actually doing it in 2025/26. Why did the fake story get more coverage than the real one?

Ahead of the midterms, Trump isn’t even being subtle about his brazen politicization of federal disaster relief aid, explicitly tying approvals to campaign endorsements and election results. It’s one of the underappreciated scandals of his second term. www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...

1. Anti-trans Democrat Seth Moulton just lost his Senate primary in a LANDSLIDE to outspoken trans ally Ed Markey. To Moulton, trans kids were a liability the Democratic Party needed to abandon. But to Massachusetts voters, the only liabilities are Democrats like him.
