I don’t exactly know why, but this little book, despite no award wins, movie deals, or much publicity, has quietly become the third best-selling thing I’ve *ever* written, right behind Fairyland and Space Opera. Thank you to everyone who’s been devouring it for five years now! #comfortmewithapples

“Queer/trans disabled people need poems as surely as we need warm oatmeal in the morning — common and essential. We who don’t (can’t) leave our houses or beds. We deemed disposable. We desexualized, degendered, dehumanized. We need poems to help us find each other when we’re drowning.”

amazing 🧵 but wanna add that this is why a lot of disabled ppl i know are more likely to be kinky, or at least openly so (and for the masochists among us, I’ll just say a) nerves get mixed up when youre in chronic pain and b) pain you choose can be a very liberatory experience)

1. Bodily Autonomy When you have a chronic illness or a disability that limits your control of or connection with your body, it can feel like you're alienated from or disassociated from the very flesh you live in. Making changes can make you feel more in control than you otherwise would.

Oh damn, @kcgrifant.bsky.social really showing the power of letting the imagination fill in the horrific details here in "Worship" 👀 Can't figure out whether I liked the inhuman descriptions of the story's goddess, or its ending, more!
