Something that i dont see talked about regarding the famous Laverne Cox trans tipping point cover is that the trans representation that was being celebrated and “normalised“ was the depiction of a trans woman abused in prison Dunno looking back im a bit like, oh, yeah

trans tipping point was a giant cis wielded cultural magnifying glass that insisted hypervisibility was the final step in a cementing of our social existence.

Weirdly enough, my opinion on this has almost reversed. I still think the characterisation of DS1 is accurate. I think the "sweaty, neurotic need to own the player" is actually more characteristic of DS3 — but, since I've recently publicly gotten salty at DS3, *also of ELDEN RING, which I enjoyed*

tl;dr DARK SOULS 1 gives the impression of being designed to challenge the player, often brutally. DARK SOULS 2 has a sweaty, neurotic need to own the player, and exhibits it constantly from the opening cinematic onward.

I am thrilled and proud beyond measure to support the amazing workers who create and design the games I and my loved ones have spent a lifetime playing. I implore everybody to sign the petition and signal boost the campaign as far and wide as we can!

This morning, the D&D team and Magic's Studio X informed our leadership of our intent to unionize. We love the games we make and the work we do, and unionizing is how we protect that work. unitedwizardsofthecoast.com/news/dnd-stu...
