I want to point out, this means you! If you are interested in writing articles about the upcoming midterms or political science, and don't have a place to put them, let us know! We are especially looking for people who either have a particular niche or a background in politics. DM us here for more
He's actually part of the team so to say! He's been active in our Discord for a long time, and wanted to write for us. The idea with our articles anyways is for it to be more communal and open to other writers to showcase their knowledge and skillset
Reminder that this is the actual map. 61 precincts flip from Kat ahead of Biss to a Biss win here and 1 flips the opposite way. The district as a whole goes from a 3 point Biss win to a 15 point one. The city of Chicago specifically goes from an 11 point Kat win to a 3 point Kat win.
Since IL-09 discourse is happening I used the actual results plus the second choice allocations from the last poll commissioned by @evanstonnow.bsky.social and @alexhairysun.bsky.social to figure out roughly what a one-on one would look like. The source for the poll is down thread
New Article: @fanofsheldon.bsky.social previews a special election in Pennsylvania that could be a preview for the Midterms. HD-12 in the State House has reliably voted Republican, but can Democrats flip it in August? LINK: electioncord.com/can-pennsylv...

There are only 6 more weeks until the primary — I need your help getting our message out to voters across the state! Click the link in my bio/description to chip in today, and share this video with 5 of your friends! secure.actblue.com/donate/sue_j...
I made a few minor changes to our Tabula America Genus map. I made the screenshots look a lot better, I also added the ability to filter districts by Presidential election results, and you can adjust the width of borders on multi-select mode. LINK: electioncord.com/genus/
One reason @robsandia.bsky.social could win? "He has eschewed national politics, declining to endorse in the 2020 Democratic primaries for president and tends to focus only on local issues. He does 100 town halls every year, visiting every county at least once to talk to voters."
New: Rob Sand is well-positioned to do something no Democrat has done since 2008: Win a major statewide election in Iowa. @fanofsheldon.bsky.social went over how he could do it, and what it could mean for other races in the state. LINK: electioncord.com/can-rob-sand...

So, from what I gather from the @gelliottmorris.com piece, taking out the 2024 weight + NPORS update brings their surveyed electorate to Harris +2 and D+10 Not too different from the updated party ID getting to D+8-9 on testing, but good to know www.gelliottmorris.com/p/2026-07-23...

One thing I am going to be skeptical of going forward is any rando running for senate. Feel like you should be an already elected official in another position or somehow a known entity in some other way before asking for that level of political office.
Also, people need to chill in the terminally online politics bubble. Maine won't affect races in Texas or Iowa. Here are the numbers for "do you think Platner allegations are true": 79% said "not sure" and then 61% didn't know who he was
Susan Collins turned her back on Mainers a long time ago. Together, we can defeat her. Get involved at TroyJackson.org.

New video from Maine Dem Party says Platner's team is trying to "put their thumb on the scale" of what the process for picking a replacement will look like. "We have repeatedly reiterated to Graham Platner's team that they have no role in determining our next Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate"
Apparently there was a third option
But if Platner beats Mills and loses to Collins, the Democratic establishment can’t say “told you so,” because they got behind a flawed candidate and everyone else passed on running, allowing Platner to win the primary.
idk it's gall as much as panic, I believe Platner sent about $5.7M in various ad services to a Fight Agency-linked company just through May 20, and has to have shipped off another $1.5-$2M since then. www.fec.gov/data/committ...

20 Likes, and we will release our newest program tonight, called Tabula America Proportio! It lets you compare districts using a similarity score, so you can see what areas are most similar and differently. We have demographic data, election data, and a combination of both.
Basically every contested dem primary is under Dems underperforming fundamentals. Yeah I don’t believe that. You can’t take pre primary polling that seriously!
Here's the definitive numbers take on Graham Platner: He's bad. Specifically, he's running about 10 points behind expectations — and in a race that decides control of the Senate about 10% of the time (the third most likely tipping point). www.gelliottmorris.com/p/2026-07-07...

Look this is the problem with all the “we need anti establishment candidates”. If you want someone like that to run, you better be ok with a bunch of them having lots of skeletons in their closets. If you’re fine with that, great! But this is the trade off.
I'm not saying it's the right learning. But it's 10,000% going to happen IMHO.
